The Marlin 1895 Trapper is a compact .45-70 Govt. lever-action rifle designed for dependable handling in demanding field conditions. Its stainless steel receiver, lever, and trigger guard plate feature a satin finish, while the durable Magpul ELG reinforced polymer stock and forend resist harsh weather and provide M-LOK and QD sling attachment compatibility. The 16.1-inch threaded barrel uses 11/16x24 threads and includes a factory-installed thread protector. Adjustable Skinner peep sights support rapid target acquisition, and the included cheek riser kit helps establish proper sight alignment when an optic is installed. A push-button cross-bolt safety, oversized lever loop, integrated six-round stock storage compartment, and length-of-pull spacer kit add practical versatility in the field.

I'd give this...
I'd give this particular rifle one star if I could. The hammer pivot screw was crossthreaded from the factory, protruding awkwardly from the left side of the receiver. No word from Ruger when I reached out regarding an RMA. Even if I can get it repaired at Ruger's expense, I will not be keeping it.

I am really happy with...
I am really happy with this rifle. I bought it for hunting and plan to use it for a cow elk hunt this fall. After shooting with the peep sight for a while, I decided to put a scope on it, a Leupold VX-3HD 1.5-5x20, which is perfect for this rifle. I also put a Spearhead muzzle break on it, which fits and matches the finish perfectly. Hornady Leverevolution 250 gr Monoflex is shooting MOA from this rifle. I zeroed it at 130 yards, giving me a MPBR of 150 yards. I am very pleased with this purchase.
