As usual, Bud's was...
As usual, Bud's was amazing in making yet another firearm purchase so very easy. While the experience at Buds was excellent, I do have mixed reviews about the Marlin GSBL … The Marlin GSBL is a very handsome rifle. The stock and the black finish make for a very nice looking rifle. When I ordered I didn't know if I would like the color. It has really grown on me. Out of the box the trigger was 7.5lbs and the Williams Fire Sight had a rather flimsy feel to it. Before test firing this rifle, I put a Wild West Trigger Happy trigger and changed out the rear Williams Fire Sight with a Skinner Winged sight. Now the trigger is a crisp 3.5lbs and the Skinner Sight is a sturdy and cool looking improvement. My first three shots out of the box at 25 yards measured .75" wide. Recoil is not bad but the gun does rise a bit. I am thinking about getting this rifle ported. Negatives … Had to drill the screws out of the receiver to get the Skinner Sight mounted. The finish is pretty cool and is supposed to be very durable but it scratches really easy around the loading gate. IF Marlin were to ask me for my 2 cents, I would suggest they leave the stainless finish alone and not apply the black FNC process. As well, I would add the Skinner Sight, the Wild West Trigger and then port it. Overall … a very accurate and very handy rifle that is capable of taking any game as well as most small SUVs on the planet.

I got this rifle...
I got this rifle through a trade with Buds.. The rifle is incredible. Everyone kept telling me how this thing was gonna kick me so hard. Maybe it's the recoil pad that comes on it but after one shot I can say the recoil isn't an issue at all. I was shooting 405 grain ammo at a steel silhouette at 100 yards no problem right out of the box. The green stock looks great. The black stainless is nice. This thing is all weather as hell. It may cost a little more for this model but it was worth it. I will buy from Buds again.
