Product Overview
The Marlin Firearms XS7 is a stainless-steel bolt-action rifle chambered in .308 Win and compatible with 7.62x51 NATO ammunition. Its 22-inch barrel, fixed synthetic stock, pillar-bedded design, and recessed target-style muzzle crown provide a durable platform for hunting and general-purpose rifle use. The adjustable Pro-Fire trigger helps the shooter achieve a consistent trigger pull, while the Soft-Tech recoil pad improves comfort during extended shooting sessions. The rifle has a four-round internal magazine and accommodates one additional chambered round for a 4+1 capacity. It is drilled and tapped for scope mounting and does not include factory iron sights.

This rifle was pretty...
This rifle was pretty much what I expected for the price. It looks nice, but it had the roughest bolt I have every seen. The stock is flimsy and feels very cheap. Other than the rough bolt I'm happy with the purchase. At the range wasn't great either, but this is a project rifle and expect better results after a few upgrades. It shot 1 1/2 to 2" groups which is ok for a SS rifle in this price range. The trigger is fine. It adjusted down to just under 3 lbs. I covered the bolt with JB's bore shine and worked it until it was black and then did that 2 more times. It's really smooth now. I reinforced the stock with epoxy and the barrel is free floated, so I'm hoping the next range trip is a little better. If it shoots decent I may get a Boyds stock for it. As for Bud's, they usually have the best prices and their service is excellent.
