The Mossberg Patriot Carbine is a compact bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC. Its 20-inch medium-bull barrel balances portability with the performance expected from this modern hunting cartridge, while the threaded muzzle is ready for a compatible muzzle brake or suppressor. A MultiCam synthetic stock and brown Cerakote metal finish provide a durable field-ready configuration. The rifle also features a detachable drop-box magazine, spiral-fluted bolt, oversized bolt handle, recessed match crown, patented Lightning Bolt Action trigger, and top-mounted Picatinny rail for mounting an optic.

I purchased this rifle...
I purchased this rifle because I was looking for a lightweight gun I could comfortably carry all day and still have the knockdown power needed for whitetail deer. I mounted a Bushnell R-5 3-9x40 on it and after a quick bore sighting I took it to the range. The gun handles so well and the trigger is amazing. After it took 3 shots to find the bullseye I consistently took the center of the target out with each subsequent shot. This will most certainly not me my last Mossbergcompact, maybe another 270 Win next?
