This is one of many...
This is one of many purchases I've made from Bud's so this review is about the product NOT about Bud's.\r \r I decided on the .22-250 due to its light recoil and moderate effective range of 300-400 for hunting. Any further than that the bullet is less likely to expand. I would have bought this rifle in .30-06 if it were offered in this caliber. There has been a lot of talk about the quality of Remington in light of its many owners and bankruptcies. I bought this rifle without any hesitation. Upon delivery and inspection the rifle's bolt is smooth and has a very solid lockup. I wasn't pleased about the stock. I found a used replacement Hogue overmolded stock with full aluminium bedding on eBay for about half what they retail for and it had a few scratches but excellent condition. I replaced the trigger with a Timney Trigger as I do with all my Remington rifles. \r \r The rifle is heavy. You'd better be in some kind of shape to carry it in the field for hunting. This rifle with a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44 weighs right at 11.9 pounds. The heavy barrel is made for continuous shooting in part because the thicker metal takes longer to heat up. The .22-250 with American Eagle .50gr JHP groups a MOA to less than MOA at 100 yards. The barrel has a 1:14 twist so no heavy bullets. Use 55gr or lighter. If you go heavier the bullet will not be stable. \r \r Don't panic at what you've heard about Remington products. If you still feel uneasy then buy vintage. I bought a Model 700 that was made in 1970. The barrel is thicker than those of current production. Why? Because grown boys complain about a heavy rifle.\r \r Buy this rifle. Its a straight shooter and solidly built. \r

The fit and finish of...
The fit and finish of this firearm is great, I found no issues. After inspection and the addition of a quality scope, rings and bases. Then I adjusted the trigger to the lightest setting possible. I then proceeded to break the gun in. While breaking the gun in it started out producing groups under 1/2 moa at 100 yards. After breakin process was completed the groups shrank to under 1/4 moa. This is a tack driver out of the box!
