Stock is absolute...
Stock is absolute garbage, replaced. Recoil is not as bad as I feared. Specs say magazine can hold three rounds which is technically true but cartridges are so large 3rd barely fits and always causes the first round to fail to feed every time, I find this unacceptable but still hunt with it, have to use your off hand to help the round feed. Shoots pretty well. Overall disappointed, but the 338 does hammer the elk, 3 bulls all with complete pass throughs with the factory swift 250 grains dropped them immediately.

I bought the 338 RUM...
I bought the 338 RUM due to its superiority over the 338 Lapua. The only advantage the Lapua offers is better brass, big deal. This rifle is extremely light and has a very explosive blast and recoil. Even with a brake the power it generates is still awesome. At 100 yards I can make the outline of the bullets touch eachother. It is very accurate. 250 grain SMK's with Reloader 25 powder 3000/ft per sec. Spectacular rifle chambered in a spectacular caliber. People complain about the stock. It's OK looking feels good it's not a McMillan or a B&C so I am not really sure why people complain. Its better than the run of the mill plastic stocks.

You don't use Sieera...
You don't use Sieera 215gr Gamekings Bullets in the 338 RUM for Brown Bear and Moose. The Rem 700 XRC 2 in 338 RUM is very capable rifle for largest American game. With the Barnes 225gr TTSX and Nosler E Tip 225gr bullets with Retumbo and H1000 powder you will have the best results. Suggest use bonded or all copper bullets to prevent bullet separation. Due to weight of rifle expect recoil to be heavy I sent my rifle off to Mag Na Port for a port job......to reduce the muzzle blast. The Stock could be better constructed.......very cheap made and light.
