Very disappointed with...
Very disappointed with this gun. I own several Remington 700 rifles and have great performance from them all but the quality control is lacking on this one. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope but it is not aligned straight with the barrel. I used a 30mm scope tube which gave me more lateral adjustment and was able to get it to zero but the scope is noticeably crooked on the receiver compared to the barrel. Poor job this time Remington!

This is a nice rifle....
This is a nice rifle. I have had several Remington 700s and I was curious about the post recall x-mark trigger. I pulled it out of the box and was very pleased with what feels like a 3-4 pound crisp trigger pull. No adjustment needed. Of course I will eventually replaced the SPS stock with a Bell and Carlson or another aftermarket stock, but I have to admit if it were free floated I would keep it. It is the one with the ruberized grip sections. The action is smooth like all 700s I have used. One problem that is fixable is that the last cartridge in the magazine (last to be fired 1st one in) has feeding issues. I think that is why alot of companies advertise their 300 WSM rifles as 2+1. This magazine holds 3. Remington customer service is awesome and they are helping me fix the issue. In the mean time I am putting a 223 dummy round in the magazine first then it operates perfectly as a 2+1. The bead blasted stainless finish is so cool. I did alot of internet searching about the recoil of the 300 WSM as I usually shoot .308. I was astonished by how light the recoil was. My 8 year old shot it and said it wasn't too bad either. One last observation is the weight and balance are just what I needed as I was looking for a full length rifle that was light enough to carry long distances, but not so light that it isn't fun to shoot. This package is perfect in my opinion.
