Heavy trigger and a cheap stock . It's hard not to get a.223 to shoot well but Remington did it with this rifle . I can see why they went out of business now .

I bought the 223 cal to varmint hunt and cheap target practice with my own reloads. Rifle is very handy and balances well to carry around. I mounted a 3-9x40 Leupold VX-Freedom (which I highly recommend) and it's just the right pairing for it to target practice/hunt. Trigger was adjusted down to 2.5lbs as it was a bit heavy from factory. I tested with many reloads all stock (no trigger reduction yet) and it was ok within 0.75-1.25moa, with most loads using Speer tnt 50grain on varget (25.5-26.5), 4895, 748, H335, 8208xbr. It was amazing with 26.5 varget printing around 0.32 and 8208XBR 25.5 grain and 26 grain printing at 0.30 (1vertical string hole); all 5 shot groups at 100 yards. I have not tested again with those load with trigger work yet. Definitely showed what it liked with a dozen different loads and now I know its recipe for one hole printing… It's a great quality/value rifle for the price.
