A: Yes, if it was not Remington, I would suggest checking the headspace before firing 5.56 because some that are labeled as being able to handle 5.56 actually cannot but you can trust this rifle. I'd also stick to ammo that is non-berdan primed (Boxer primed is more reliable to me in mine and my friends).

A: The data in the specifications on the listing calls for caliber 223 Remington/5.56. However, it also says chambered it 223 Remington. If the latter is true you should NOT fire 5.56 NATO in the rifles as it MIGHT produce an over pressure. If the former is true you will no problem with either. NATO ammo standards are different than SAMMI standards for US commercial ammo. Any ammo marked 222 Rem is okay. That is not true of ALL 5.56 NATO ammo. It may take both but that would require reading the manual or a call to Remington for full clarification. (Keep in mind that Remington would much rather it be 'called' 223 Remington than 5.56 NATO so marketing is also at issue with this particular rifle.)

A: Bruce, production is severely curbed due to bankruptcy Sir. I would check on large gun and accessory sites like (6)un (8)roker, Armslist and Guns America as discontinued and hard to find firearms and accessories show up for sale by private individuals and small shops. Just replace (6) & (8) with G & B.

A: Remington guns are still being built but by other companies. Their brand is owned by companies such as Ruger and Vista to name a few. You can still find Remington but not built by them.

A: Remington is expected to relaunch most of their product lines later this summer, as David pointed out they are under new ownership, as they filed bankruptcy last year, they were divided and sold off to New owners and ceased production while the new buissnes's that bought their brands figured out their relaunch strategy. In the meantime you can look for used versions of this gun on armslist.com, and (G)unBr0ker.
