The Ruger American Predator is a right-hand bolt-action rifle chambered in .204 Ruger and configured with a Moss Green synthetic stock, a 22-inch heavy tapered threaded barrel, and a factory-installed thread protector. Its cold hammer-forged barrel, Ruger Power Bedding integral bedding block system, and free-floating design support consistent accuracy. The one-piece, three-lug bolt uses a 70-degree lift for smooth cycling and generous scope clearance. A Ruger Marksman Adjustable Trigger allows pull-weight adjustment from 3 to 5 pounds, while the tang manual safety and trigger safety provide familiar handling controls. This package includes a Vortex Crossfire II riflescope with a Dead-Hold BDC reticle mounted on a one-piece Picatinny scope base.

The Achilles heel for...
The Achilles heel for this rifle is the magazines. There's a lot of misinformation out there about which magazines are compatible with this rifle and there are even more negative reviews about the reliability and available options of compatible magazines. Ruger is the only source for magazines; the shorter magazines are reportedly terrible and the 10 round magazines are EXPENSIVE. Ruger should have worked out something with Accuracy International, to produce quality magazines for this rifle. I haven't shot this rifle or bought anything for it, because I'm waiting for the perfect opportunity to get rid of it. It's a shame, because it's an otherwise nice firearm.
