This rifle has performed very well for me. I like the trigger and bolt action on it. It's not a safe queen, I shoot pigeons on our dairy farm with it and it's easy to handle.

The engraving on the...
The engraving on the wood stock is highly detailed and much deeper than expected. The horizon and sky is rendered with a non-reflective matte cross-hatch cut, while the foreground barn, trees and mountains are smoother and semi-glossy setting up a sort of three dimensional contrast. Uniform stain, beautiful bluing, great fit, finish, and execution from Ruger. The first .22 I ever shot as a kid was at my Grandpa's farm in Kansas, so I felt compelled to get an American Farmer. Great price with fast shipping... thanks, Bud's !
