The Ruger American Rimfire Compact is a practical .22 WMR bolt-action rifle designed for small-game hunting, training, and general field use. Its 18-inch barrel and compact synthetic-stock configuration provide a manageable platform, while the satin blue finish offers a traditional appearance. Two interchangeable stock modules provide different comb heights for comfortable scope or iron-sight alignment. The receiver includes a machined 3/8-inch rimfire scope base and is drilled and tapped for Weaver #12 bases. A fiber optic front sight and adjustable rear sight support fast target acquisition with the factory iron sights.

I have a scoped 22 mag...
I have a scoped 22 mag woodstock, that I can hit a dime at a hundred yards, i wanted a synthetic stock with open sights, something I could throw on the quad and bouncing around and I love this sights on my ruger.22 since I'm was already aware of quality and fit and finish of my Ruger, I guess I had to buy another Ruger. It's funny I think there's gonna be a lot of ruger. in my gun case. Next on my list is the ruger scout 5.56

This Ruger American...
This Ruger American 22wmr seems to be made well. It's convenient bolt removal makes cleaning very easy. Accuracy is good but seems to vary with different ammunition and when the barrel starts to get really warm. With a cold barrel it's dead on with open sights. Didn't have to adjust the sights at all. So far I would recommend this rifle. I've only shot 20 rounds through it but no problems at all.
