I was very pleased...
I was very pleased with the service and delivery of my new Mini-14 Ranch Rifle from Bud's. However, the fit and finish on the rifle itself was not what I expected for the $1,000 price point. The finish on the stock was relatively dull and rough and the finish on the stainless steel looks a lot more like pewter than stainless. Fortunately, the finish on the stock was easily corrected by some light sanding with steel wool and repeated applications of True Oil Gun Stock Refinisher. Obviously, I couldn't remedy the metal finish, but the overall looks of the gun are so much better, it doesn't matter. The sound of the action on this rifle is worth the cost. It breaks down easily for cleaning and everything about its design makes it fun to handle. Can't wait to get it to the farm and break it in.
