Wanted one of these...
Wanted one of these for years. Kept going back and forth before making the purchase. They are expensive, but worth every dime and it is definitely "old school" with the single shot and falling block action. Couldn't find one in a store, but Buds had one. You wont regret this purchase!!

For over $1300 I was...
For over $1300 I was expecting alot and I wasnt dissapointed. The fit and finish is great, wood is very nice, detail is looked at for sure. The Rifle shot amazing. Most accurate 44 I own. (and I own 4 others) I can consistently shoot cloverleafs with open sights at 25 yards off hand. (After I upgraded the sights with a skinner sight. Thats my biggest complaint is that this high dollar rifle still has that cheap Ruger Sight) very light recoil, and just plain fun to shoot. Like mentioned earlier biggest gripe is the sights. One thing I will mention is this rifle does feel heavier than it is due to its compact size. So be prepared for that. But with the falling block action it makes it very short and handy. Overall very nice Rifle.

I'm a big fan of the...
I'm a big fan of the Ruger Number 1 rifles and this is a great addition to my hunting line up. Short and fairly light, even with a scope, and very accurate. I will use this for hunting whitetail deer in thickets where close, under 100 yard, shots are the norm. I highly recommend this rifle and kudos to Buds for a great job as always.
