A: I've shot this one at a Ruger even here in the California. Surprisingly, the recoil wasn't that bad. It's a well build firearm. It has a massive, and I mean, a massive muzzle brake on the tip. I've shot it without it on and I tell you, it makes a difference. If you can handle the .308 you should be able to handle this. You can definitely feel the power of this caliber. You'll feel it in your chest, but nothing crazy. It's felt more if you're on the side of the firearm watching someone shoot it. That muzzle brakes just blows everything away. I don't know the severity of your back surgeries and if you're fully healed. I'd wait until you're fully healed. Also, I don't know the effects of throat cancer and recoil. Most importantly, STAY STRONG! I have family members who have stayed strong and survived forms of cancer. Family and friend support helps so much. I wish you the best. God bless you.
