The Sauer S 101 Classic XT is a precision-focused bolt-action rifle chambered in .300 Win Mag. Its Ergo Max polymer stock has a soft-touch coating and soft rubber recoil pad for a secure, comfortable hold during extended use. Sauer's Dura Safe system places a direct firing pin safety in an ergonomic lever on the bolt sleeve, with a detent button to help prevent unintended movement and a safe opener that allows the bolt to be operated while the rifle remains on safe. The Heat Lock barrel connection and Ever Rest bedding system support consistent accuracy, while the smooth bolt throw and massive locking lugs provide dependable cycling. An extra-wide trigger delivers a crisp pull of approximately 2 pounds, and the rifle accepts Remington 700 long-action scope bases.
