I have ordered guns in...
I have ordered guns in the past from Bud's and always received great service. For this order, I had to wait several days for shipping, but I realize that based on backload from large gun sales, this contributed to the delay, not typical from Bud's. However, when I was searching for the Savage 25-06, I was looking for one in stainless. Looking over the different models, various photos are displayed on the webpage. I overlooked those with a blued barrel, then saw the photo of the stainless version. Shame on me, I didn't read the full description, as I was excited to see the stainless model. It was a Savage. I have a Savage (from Bud's) in .308 cal. and love the rifle. So, I am somewhat disappointed in the fact that I received a blued barrel rifle instead of the stainless. In chatting with one of their reps., I felt I was just getting a "lip" service. Since there was no way to talk on the phone, these kinds of problems are hard to resolve. I am hoping that a representative can coordinate a phone with me. \r \r I have not fired the rifle as of yet, so I cannot give a product rating. However, based on my experience with the Savage .308, I would expect quality performance. The package I received, even blued is a nice product, especially having the Vortex Crossfire scope.

Wow what a...
Wow what a disappointment. The process with Bud's was excellent and arrived right on time. My issues are with the rifle. A Savage 110 Apex Hunter in 25-06. While I own several safes full of rifles, I have never owned a Savage before but upon some great recommendations from friends I took a chance on this rifle being it is American made. Now I own a $600 paper weight. The rifle fails to feed from the magazine 4 out of 5 times. The bolt simply does not catch the shell and bring it forward. It slips over the top. Yes the magazine is inserted correctly. I wish I could submit a video here to show what is happening. When it finally does decide to catch it is a 50/50 chance whether it will load or jam at a steep angle. It doesn't matter if there is one round in the mag or 3.....fail to feed over and over. I cannot hunt as I intended with this rifle so to me it is worthless. Very disappointed!! Save yourself some headache and spend the extra couple hundred dollars on a quality built firearm.

This Savage rifle is...
This Savage rifle is one sharp shooter after I solved it's sighting issues. the Vortex Crossfire II scope is a good optic system. Savage mounted the scope with weaver rings on a picatinny mount on the rifle. This combination has 1/16 inch front to rear movement between the ring base and mount rail. 2 foot groups, yep real bad. I bought a Leopold picatinny mounting system with integrated rings. Drug out my Hornady 117 grn American Whitetail ammo and Bingo, 5 shots into 0.375 inchs at 110 yards. Fantastic Rifle and Scope once there put together right.
