Originally bought this...
Originally bought this with the intent of it being a makeshift scout rifle, but upon receiving it and feeling the weight, changed my mind. Took it out to the desert for initial testing and that's where the confusion began. I didn't know if it was the weight, the muzzle device, or the cartridge, but this thing kicks like a weak breeze. Shots were landing on target, my shoulder felt like there was no recoil, the action was smooth, reloading was a breeze. The only complaint is the weight but even firing standing upright was easy. Would highly recommend to anyone

I really love this...
I really love this rifle. For years I have lamented the trend to leave fixed sights off of rifles, as I do most of my shooting at 300 yards or less and prefer "Iron sight" shooting. The "Ghost ring" or "Peep sight" is my preferred type fixed sight. The Picatinny rail allows scope shooters plenty of room to add their favorite glass. The rifle itself is solid and well made, light enough for field use, yet hefty enough to handle the recoil (I got mine in 6.5 Creedmoor with a FDE stock). I like the position of the safety (Same as a well known shotgun brand as it is handy and well marked. It has all the features I want or need and no extra "Bells and Whistles". It has become my preferred brush/field gun. If I were to have a criticism, it would be the proprietary magazines (A bit pricey). It would be just about perfect if it took standard 7.62 X 51mm magazines compatible with AR-10 rifles (Or depending on the caliber standard AR-15 magazines). I only hope Savage comes out with one of these in 8.6 X 43mm (8.6 Blackout). If they do, I will get one in a heartbeat.
