A: Steve, yes it will Sir. .308 is actually a higher pressure round than the 7.62x51 and will fire without issue in this rifle. Similar concept to the 5.56 & .223.

A: Steve - you can fire 7.62X51 (nato) rounds in this gun all day long with no worry. Nearly identical in size and shape, the .308 is the more powerful and any rifle designated as safe for .3080 is definitely safe with 7.62'x51.

A: Jesse - No sir, the barrel on this one is not fluted it is a "Threaded heavy barrel with end cap" per the Savage web site. With the included 20 MOA EGW rail, and the Accustock, this one should be a great long range shooter.

A: Anthony - You certainly may order it and have it shipped to an FFL in MA. Just select an FFL near you, whether or not on Buds list of FFLs, and then coordinate to make sure Buds has a copy of that FFL's license. Buy the gun, ship it and you go complete the background check paperwork, and when you pass, the FFL will transfer the firearm to you. FFLs charge a small fee for this transfer usually.
