This is a very nice...
This is a very nice rifle, accurate, low recoil and well made. I adjusted the trigger to just under 1# and it has no creep and smooth break. The bolt lugs are well lapped and the bolt moves smoothly without excess slop. With a Vortex Viper and Hornady factory ammo, 100 yrd groups were under 1" mostly about .75". I handloaded a few 75 gr V-max and got a couple of 5 shot 100 yard groups just over .5". Am very happy with everything about it. I would note that with the large scope that this might not be a rifle to hike for miles with (its heavy), but for bench shooting or varmint shooting it is wonderful. Ammo is somewhat expensive and only a few factory loads are out as of Feb 2025, but I intend to handload and brass and dies are available and will reduce the cost to shoot. This is a pleasant gun to shoot so its easy to shoot a LOT. MDT polymermags work very well, fit tightly and feed flawlessly.

I received the gun and...
I received the gun and inspected it, not good enough inspection - but who inspects the ejector to make sure it's working? So a few days later when I get some ammo, I try to cycle some ammo to ensure it feeds from magazine. It wouldn't eject the round, so after inspection I determined the ejector wasn't working at all. Contacted Savage Arms and it's been 2 weeks and crickets. Few days later, I removed the ejector and discovered the ejector was bent. I ordered a aftermarket ejector/extractor kit and just installed it and everything is working. On one of my other Savages, the firing pin spring wasn't working after a year - Savage won't sell you a firing pin spring they said I had to have a FFL order it. It was the 2019 bolt, so an aftermarket firing pin spring wasn't available at the time, they wanted me to pay for shipping to them (for a $8 spring). Anyhow, back to this gun - I own 7 Savages and this will be my last (unless they pay for the ejector/extractor kit I just bought) I usually don't give a review to a gun I haven't shot, but in this case I'll make an exception. I'm not happy with Savage on this one.
