This is my second...
This is my second firearm purchase with Bud's. I used the layaway option on this one and was very satisfied with the entire transaction from start until I received my brand new 300 wsm. I had it paid off in about 60 days and within a few days of making the last payment, my rifle arrived at my chosen dealer in perfect condition. Took the gun to the range today, and with about 10 rounds, I had the gun zeroed at 200 yards. I like a magnum load cartridge and I have hunted with a 300 Win Mag for several years but I was looking for a lesser recoil load and this 300 wsm is the path I choose to take because I didn't want to sacrifice the performance of my 300 Win Mag. This caliber and gun should be great for this and I'm looking forward to harvesting my first whitetail with it this year. This is an awesome rifle that will get the job done time after time I am sure. Savage has come a long way on their product over the years. The Accu-Trigger is also a nice add-on feature but mine came out of the box at 3 lbs, which is about where I like my triggers, so there was no need for adjustment for me. I have owned several Savage rifles and none of them have ever let me down and I'm confident this one will perform great as well. Thanks Bud's and thanks Savage Arms!

Overall... one of the...
Overall... one of the best firearms I've fired. Smooth bolt, outstanding trigger, tight groups. My issues are with the scope, and details. I started aiming at a broken clay pigeon at 75 yards, almost hit it second shot. And, this rifle felt "complete". Like I could keyhole shots all day long out of the box. Partially my fault because of my inexperience with scopes. But, I could not get the windage in. Though the scope was extremely clear. The clicks were vague. I continued to hit the same spot regardless of adjustment. After a $40 box of ammo, I gave up. While waiting 20 minutes to speak to someone at Savage (and eventually hanging up unhappy with the lack of support)... I noticed the scope mounts were only finger tight. And the rear mount had worked loose almost an 1/8th of a turn. I would have expected the mounts on a magnum rifle to be tight. And, Savage's customer support to be better. The rifle itself is incredible. And I paid it off on a saturday night, Bud's got it to my FFL tuesday morning. That's why I keep coming back to Bud's (just be aware...buying from Bud's can be addicting). overall... I WOULD recommend this rifle/caliber combo. Just check the mounts out before, and while you're shooting.
