The Savage Arms 25 LWT Varminter Thumbhole is a right-handed bolt-action rifle chambered in .222 Remington. Its laminated wood thumbhole stock provides a stable, comfortable shooting position, while the beavertail varmint-style forend includes a third swivel stud for mounting a bipod. The medium-contour satin blue barrel is sleeved for added rigidity. A triple locking lug action with a 60-degree bolt throw supports smooth, fast cycling, and the Savage AccuTrigger provides a crisp, user-adjustable trigger pull. A four-round detachable box magazine completes the practical varmint rifle configuration.

Savage is a premier...
Savage is a premier American gun maker, make no mistake. This rifle is an example of their engineering and craftmanship with long guns. I chose the "T" model out of preference for this style of stock and was delighted with the fit, feel and workmanship that Savage put into it. The adjustable trigger came set at about 2 lbs which is good enough for my purposes but there was still some additional adjustment available. A Redfield 4-12x40 scope went up top and soon it'll go to the range for sighting it. Dollar for dollar it's better out-of-the-box than some other domestic offerings. I'm proud to own it.
