The Savage Axis II has...
The Savage Axis II has a good reputation for how well it shoots and how tight the groups are for a budget rifle. I can confirm that it does indeed shoot well for a rifle at this price point. The trigger is nice and smooth as well. With that being said it has a couple downfalls that could be addressed to make it better. First off the bolt is not very easy to operate and is not that smooth at all. The material used in the bolt and the barrel are sub par as they both will flash over rust with just the smallest amount of moisture, so it requires a little more attention. Also the butt of the stock is really hollow which makes a bunch of noise and feels cheap in the hand. All and all not a rifle to shy away from as some of the issue could be address later by the purchaser.

Light, accurate,...
Light, accurate, durable, and visually pleasing. I bought this 30-06 to be my "rugged, rough and rough, go anywhere and don't baby it, never a safe Queen" hunting rifle. It stood up to the test and then some this past fall, helping me in taking 4 deer. Savage Accuracy found and heavily anchored in the industry standard, pioneering expedition, that is the accu-trigger can't be beat! Thanks to Buds Gun Shop for an excellent experience and always superior service.
