This is the first...
This is the first Savage I had ever bought--or even shot for that matter. I quickly added a Nikon M-223 mount and a Bushnell 4.5-18x AR/6.5 Creedmoor BDC Scope. Five shots to get it sighted in. Cold and very windy. Then a four-shot 9/16" group. I have never been so satisfied with a new rifle. I honestly believe this is the best rifle I have ever owned. And what a price! Can't wait to see how small a group I can shoot in warm, unwindy weather! Do yourself a favor and grab one at Bud's!

I bought this rifle...
I bought this rifle for the action with plans to ditch the barrel and stock and install some upgrades. I mounted a lower end Vortex 4-12x44 and was very surprised at the groups I was getting during the barrel break in procedure. With only 15 rounds this rifle is easily shooting 1/2 MOA (1/2") at 100 yards, As well as it shoots I am going to hold off on re-barreling for now. Mine arrived with the accustock and 10 (actually 9 functional) round magazine, and picatinny rail. The trigger is adjustable and breaks clean. I do expect some slight grittiness to work its way out as more rounds are squeezed off. The threads at the end of the 26" fluted barrel are clean and the protective cap screws on tightly. I considered adding a break if needed for recoil but this rifle has very light recoil. I did drop the it into a H-S Precision PST114 stock that I intended on using for my build but I will keep the accustock for another project as I believe it is a decent stock. For the price I paid I am more than pleased with the performance. Also note that I believe these are a special run because they are not available everywhere. Buds shipped quickly to my FFl once the e-check cleared the 5 day wait. They provided excellent tracking and updates via their website. I will DEFINITELY be utilizing Bud's for future purchases. I dropped a star because I had some pretty good scratches on the top of the barrel. These did not bother me because I was planning on re-barreling anyway. I think I will have it Cerakoted to match the tan of my stock. You can't go wrong with this gun, get them while you can!
