Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 10mm Rifle, Folding

A: No, the Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 10mm rifle is likely not legal to sell or purchase in Washington State due to its features that classify it as an "assault weapon" under the state's regulations. Washington law prohibits the sale, manufacture, and import of assault weapons, effective April 25, 2023. The ban applies to semiautomatic rifles with a detachable magazine and a threaded barrel. Factors contributing to its illegality in WA: Detachable Magazine: The FPC 10mm is a pistol carbine that can accommodate a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds, which is a characteristic of assault weapons under Washington law. Threaded Barrel: The FPC 10mm is designed to accept a suppressor, which is a feature often associated with assault weapons and is a key characteristic of the ban.

A: while you can shoot 40 S&W in a 10mm Shooting .40 S&W in a 10mm firearm is not recommended. Typically, .40 S&W barrels are not designed to shoot 10mm cartridges, and doing so can cause damage to the firearm. the problem is head spacing as a rimless case both 10mm and 40 are made to headspace on the mouth of the case the 40 is to short for proper headspacing and is relying on the extractor to hold the case. It will most likely void your warranty

A: Hi Brian and welcome. Yes, it will. Same concept as a .357 Mag firing the shorter .38 Special. When firing the shorter round, it will build up a carbon ring at the chamber throat due to the shorter cartridge so cleaning may be required so longer 10mm rounds won't bind up or stick. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

A: James that is not correct the 357 and 38 headspace on the rim not on the mouth of the case when firing a 40 s&w in a 10mm chamber the only thing holding the case is the small extractor. I know people do it but its not 100% safe and will void any warranty on the gun ask S&W and see what they say By Telephone: (USA) 1-800-331-0852 Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:45PM EST

A: Hi Ricky and welcome. A 10mm carbine would be excellent for all the purposes you list within a hundred yards. There will not be an apples-to-apples comparison between a pistol caliber carbine and rifle caliber due to superior ballistics of rifle caliber. The 10mm especially in a carbine is no slouch with a heavy fast bullet but it sheds velocity and therefore energy much faster than a rifle round. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

A: Hi Ricky, it would be great for plinking under 100 yrds & home defense. The price of 10mm vs 5.56 is fairly clode, with 10mm being a few cents per round less expensive. Stay safe & have a great day!

A: No sir, magazine capacity exceeds 10rds

A: Hi Josh and welcome. Unfortunately, no due to the Pistol Grip (although Buds ships without non-compliant magazines if capacity is the only state restriction). Details under Statewide Restrictions" - A here: https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf

A: Hi Josh, this is not Illinois compliant due to the pistol grip. Stay safe & have a great day!

A: Hi Doug and welcome. Thes 10mm carbines are comparable in fit, function and accuracy. The Smith and Wesson has slightly more case support which may allow heavier power loading in the long run. It really boils down to which is more aesthetically pleasing to your eye. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

A: Hi William and welcome. Yes, this is 100% Colorado legal as configured. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy! https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/colorado_restrictions.pdf

A: Go to go in CO!!
