Prohibited - Any grip of the weapon, including a pistol grip, a thumbhole stock, or any other stock, the use of which would allow an individual to grip the weapon, resulting in any finger on the trigger hand in addition to the trigger finger being directly below any portion of the action of the weapon when firing. A: Hi Thomas, as a fellow NJ resident, I can unequivocally say yes, you can have a pistol grip on a AR15 in NJ. (I actually own this exact model) You are allowed 1 'Evil Feature', which is the pistol grip. You can not additionally have an adjustable stock, threaded barrel, flash hider, bayonet lug, or grenade launcher. As long as the barrel is non threaded and the stock is fixed, it is NJ legal.
