A: Yes, 308 is actually loaded to higher pressure than 7.62x51 Nato ammunition and is shoot-able in a 308 spec rifle no problem.

A: Any American made and most foreign 7.62 will fit and fire in 308 rifles. The main concern is that all American made 7.62 is made to head space in a 308. It can be made a bit longer than the 308 and still be in NATO specs so some foreign ammo may not easily chamber. The pressures are the same just measured on a different scale and at different points on the barrel. (They both shoot the same weight bullets at the same speed right?)
