Thrilled to finally...
Thrilled to finally have this iconic rifle in my collection. The attention detail is visible in every inch. The walnut stock looks like it was hand selected. The fit and finish of the bedded stock, smooth cycling action, crisp trigger and down to my wiggle test. Not a single rattle! Can't wait to get it to the range. I plan on plenty of practice time and getting into some local matches. Buds's price was better than any retailer in California and other internet sites didn't have any in stock. Springfield even sweetened the deal and sent me 3 FREE magazines that arrived quicker than my 10 day CA waiting period.

Before purchasing this rifle I really struggled with weather I wanted the M1A NM or the DPMS SASS, long story short I chose the M1A because it was something completely different from all of my other rifles. I am very happy with my decision. I took the rifle out yesterday, and with Iron sites was able to put together 1"-1.5" groups at 100 yards. This surprised the heck out of me, I was hoping optimistically that I would get somewhere around 4" groups, so when I checked with my spotting scope I was amazed! One of the things I like most about this model is something I didn't realize when I ordered it, it has a muzzle brake and let me tell you, that brake does a great job. Every time I squeezed the trigger the rifle returned to target very quickly and felt recoil was minimal. This rifle had very consistent ejection with all of my brass ending up in a pile about 4 feet from me. Overall I highly recommend this rifle as an accurate and extremely fun firearm to shoot!
