The Steyr Arms Scout is a compact, lightweight bolt-action rifle designed for practical field use, dependable handling, and accurate performance. Its 19-inch cold-hammer-forged, fluted barrel is chambered for both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO. The green synthetic stock incorporates an integrated bipod, a UIT accessory rail, and five press-and-twist sling-swivel attachment points. Ghost ring rear sights and a factory scope rail provide flexible aiming options, while the three-position manual safety supports secure carry and controlled operation. Two five-round magazines are included, and the buttstock provides storage for an additional magazine.

This is an outstanding...
This is an outstanding rifle. It is incredibly well balanced and has some pretty innovative features considering the design is 25+ years old. It has a light, smooth bolt, and a very crisp trigger. The integral bipod (although not terribly rugged) works well at the range and give the user an added shooting dynamic without using any additional equipment. The 2 stage magazine works very well, and the second magazine storage in the stock is just cool. I like the adjustable length of pull as well as the 3 position safety system (which is very intuitive). Top that off with the fact that it has a threaded barrel if you would like to add a muzzle device and back up, pop up sights built into the gun...This rifle has it all. While it may be on the higher end of the price range for a scout style rifle, the quality is immediately apparent. You get what you pay for.
