Taylor's & Co. 45 Long...
Taylor's & Co. 45 Long Colt w/24 1/4" Blued Octagonal Barrel. A beautiful clone of a truly iconic rifle. Received it yesterday 01-28-21 removed from the box, stripped, cleaned & lubed it. Took out today 01-29-21 & put 10 rounds on 10 water bottles off hand at 25 yds on a 23 degree Ohio winter afternoon. Will give her a full work out when weather warms a bit. Wood to metal fit, wood finish, bluing & color case hardening were perfect- Typical Taylor's & Co. For those 1873 purist- The Walnut stock does have a reddish tint to it and a varnish finish unlike the typical brown of the hand rubbed oil finish of American walnut. The reddish color however does tend to give it a richer look. Overall very comparable to my maple stocked Sporter & Trapper Winchester (Miroku) 1873's in just about everyway.

What a beautiful...
What a beautiful rifle!! This rifle is truly a work of art. It shoots like a dream and operates flawlessly. The only thing that's different from the lever action guns I had had in the past is that it has a latch that locks the lever in place and prevents the gun from cycling. I am not sure why its there but its only a minor criticism of an otherwise wonderful gun.
