Love the gun! Price was great and I traded two guns to Bud's and they were very fair in pricing my trades. Bud's has the friendliest and most helpful staff of any retail establishment I've been in.

I was super excited...
I was super excited about receiving this rifle. I had plans to convert it to a 300 BLK SBR because I know Troy usually makes excellent products and I wouldn't mind having my trust engraved on their lower receiver. However after I picked the rifle up at my FFL and got it home I started noticing a few quality issues. First I noticed that Magpul magazines will not lock in due to them having a stop of the back side which prevents it from seating all the way into the mag well which is about 1/16" too long. I guess there is a reason they send their own magazine with the rifle...it locks in fine although feels cheap. Standard USGI 30 round magazines lock in fine however the 20 round magazines are a little fatter on top and fail to fall free completely when released. This has never been a problem in any of my other rifles so the mag well on this one must be a little narrow as well. The receiver fit is spot on however, I usually have to add an accu-wedge to remove any play between the upper and lower receivers but these fit together perfectly. I did notice the take down pins are very hard to work in and out. At first I thought maybe it was due to the tight receiver fit, but they are stubborn even with the upper receiver off. Next is the hole for the safety selector. It looks like it may have been off at some point and then they milled it out a little more post anodization. The milling is very rough and they did not bother to re-anodize the bare aluminum. It is only visible though if you look very close in the groove around the selector or if you take it out like I did and have a look. They also did not remove the trigger group when doing this and so cut a chunk out of the trigger inside. Neither of these things appear to effect function at all. The only other complaint I have would be the amount of oil on the rifle. It caused it to pick up every peace of lint or funk it encountered between wherever it was boxed and my house. It was during giving it a thorough cleaning I discovered the safety selector hole milling issue because my rag snagged on a bit of aluminum. I am still considering if I should mess with returning it to Troy or replace the springs & followers in all of my old USGI mags. Either way I'm fairly disappointed in this rifle and haven't even shot it yet.
