Used Marlin 1894 .44 Magnum, Maple Stock, Factory Box

A: Yes 💯❗️

A: Hi Greg and welcome. For controls, the Marlin 1894 has a metal action lever, hammer and cross-bolt safety. The cross-bolt safety is color coded and also acts as a hammer block when engaged, preventing the hammer from being able to touch the firing pin. As an added safety feature, there is also a trigger-lock safety that only disengages when the action lever, and thus the action, is fully closed. The hammer itself has three positions, including a half-cock position where the cross-bolt safety can also be engaged. Cheers and stay safe!

A: Yes, the Marlin Model 1894 in .44 Magnum has a cross-bolt (cross-bar) safety. Key Details About the Cross-Bolt Safety • Location: It is a push-button, cross-bolt safety located in the upper rear portion of the receiver (just behind the hammer). • Function: When engaged (pushed into the safe position), it blocks the hammer from reaching the firing pin. It also features a color-coded red ring visible when the safety is disengaged and ready to fire. • History: Marlin added the cross-bolt safety to its lever-action rifles starting in the mid-1980s (around 1983–1984), and it remains a standard feature on current production models (including those manufactured by Ruger). • Traditional Safety Features: In addition to the cross-bolt safety, the Marlin 1894 retains the traditional half-cock hammer position and a two-piece firing pin/trigger block mechanism.
