Really nice rifle!...
Really nice rifle! shoots 3/4" groups at 100 yards with 80 grain .243 lead free all copper Barnes Vortex deer hunting ammo. But let it be known, the stock is not glossy like the picture, and the barrel is a flat black, not glossy blued like the picture. Over all well pleased. Solid rifle, good communication, great price, and quick delivery.

I recently bought this...
I recently bought this rifle but before I received it I had to go into the hospital for some surgery on my neck, they replaced 3 discs in my neck. I haven't been able to shoot it yet but I really like the looks and quality of this rifle. I normally shoot a .270 Win. cal rifle but I know it will kick too hard now that I've had the surgery on my neck. That's why I decided to get this rifle in .243 Win cal. I've owned .243 s before and I know that they are very fast and flat shooting rifles. I should be healed up enough to go to the range in about another month. I have some cartridges hand loaded and ready to go and I put a Bushnel Elite 3 X 9 variable scope and a bipod on it to compinsate for my weakened condition. I can hardly wait to try it out. I'm confident that will be able to get tight groups out to 300+ yards. This is a great buy for the price.\r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r =

I ordered the gun with...
I ordered the gun with the wood stock, as the standard plastic stocks are very cheap and fore arm flexes with bi pod. After I got the gun I polished the stock and it came out looking really good. Taking the rifle to the range proved the Weatherby 1 moa true. However, I could not bring myself to hunt with the gun due to the fancy stock. Ordered a Bell and Carlson fiberglass stock, mounted it took it to the range and now the gun is a sub MOA rifle. Decided now was the day to take it hunting and scored a West Texas Coyote with a hand load 70 grain nosler plastic tip bullet. The plastic tipped bullets work well in all my coyote guns. This is the second Weatherby Vanguard I have had the other is a 22-250, which I made the mistake of selling years ago. These guns are good shooters I recommend it if it's what you're looking for. If I had it to do again I would buy the standard black stock gun and change it out to a Bell and Carlson.
