The Weatherby Vanguard Wilderness is a lightweight bolt-action rifle chambered in .300 Weatherby Mag for demanding hunting trips and extended wilderness carry. Its hand-laminated synthetic Monte Carlo stock features a raised comb, right-side palm swell, full-length aluminum bedding block, matte gel coat finish, and gray spiderweb accents. A bead-blasted matte blue metal finish helps reduce glare, while the 24-inch barrel and Weatherby Vanguard action provide a practical combination of field portability and magnum performance. The rifle feeds from a three-round internal magazine and includes a three-position manual safety and two-stage trigger.

Purchased my Weatherby...
Purchased my Weatherby Wilderness 300 Wby Mag on 12/22/2016, received it on 1/13/2017, slightly delayed do to Holidays and weather. After inspecting and accepting the rifle, it appeared better that I had expected, took another two week to get Vanguard scope mounts and set up my 4 x 14 Leopold, shot a 10 round quarter group at 100 yards. Was very pleased with the rifle, but at 7lb (with scope) it has a hard recoil, for that reason I decided to send back to WBY to have Suppressor installed, another couple hundred dollars, I feel will be worth the investment. I would recommend the rifle and Buds Gun Shop to anyone who is looking for the maximum power in a light weight, economic package. My brother purchase a custom sheep hunting WBY light Weight Mark V for several thousand dollars range, my rifle is less than half the cost and is within 1/2 lb. I am looking forward to getting it back and shooting it again with the reduced recoil. If you go this route be patient, it will take time to get yours set up, but the reduced weight and accuracy will be worth it.
