The Winchester Model 70 Alaskan is a controlled-round-feed bolt-action rifle built for demanding big-game hunting. Its forged steel receiver features an integral recoil lug and a bedded action, while the free-floating, cold hammer forged barrel supports consistent accuracy. The 25-inch blued barrel uses a recessed target crown and a 1:10-inch twist rate for reliable performance with .30-06 Springfield loads. A Monte Carlo black walnut stock, cut checkering, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, and 13.75-inch length of pull provide a comfortable and stable shooting platform. The rifle includes a three-position manual safety, hooded brass bead front sight, adjustable folding rear sight, and Winchester MOA Trigger System, factory set at 3.75 pounds and adjustable from 3 to 5 pounds.

I've been wanting this...
I've been wanting this rifle for many years, and it has not disappointed! Butter smooth bolt, beautiful wood, and the trigger is amazing! Though the price is higher than I would normally have paid, it is worth every penny. My only negative comment is that I had to wait so long for it to become available!!
