Excellent rifle. The...
Excellent rifle. The limb saver recoil pad handles the 300 WM cartridge extremely well. Fired 40 rounds from the bench during break in, and am very happy with this rifle. The 300 WM heats up barrels fast so give yourself time between shots to let your barrel cool to get best accuracy. The stock design is comfortable, grippy (but not aggressive) due to the texturing, and is just a very nice overall hunting rifle package offered by Winchester. If your comfortable with 270 Win , 308, and 30-06 levels of recoil the 300 Win Mag in the Winchester Extreme Weather SS May be a great rifle to consider adding. I don't think I'd recommend this as a cartridge for a beginner, but the rifle is very nice and comes in other cartridge choices as well. If your in the former camp then definitely consider getting this rifle in 300 WM. It's a dandy!

The B&C stock is...
The B&C stock is great. The fit and finish is good for non-custom rifle, and it performs like I've come to expect from a M70. This is my 4th Model 70 and the extreme weather is my favorite. Now for Buds. This was my third purchase from Buds and everything went perfectly on all three. I will definitely by from Buds again.
