This bolt-action rifle features a smooth pre-’64 style handling and is tuned for accuracy with a cold hammer forged free-floated barrel and a recessed target crown to help protect the rifling.

I purchased this rifle...
I purchased this rifle about 3 years ago and I wanted to put it through its paces before I wrote anything about it. The modern Model 70 lack the Americana luster of the pre-64s but it has not diminished in quality with its fit and finish. Absolutely impressed with the rifle and the accuracy is amazing. Easily an moa if not sub moa depending on loads. I put Barnes TTSX, nosler accubonds/partitions, Winchester Silver tip, and Hornady LRX in a variety of bullet weights through it and no issues from any of them. Nosler's were probably sub moa in my rifle. Overall, it's light, well balanced and extremely manageable recoil. I don't know if it was just my own perception but it felt on par with my Rem 700 AWR in 30'06. If you have the opportunity and the need to get one, do it.
