American Tactical KOFS Cavalry Sport is a break-action over / under 28 Gauge shotgun built for hunting with a 28in chrome-moly high rib barrel, chrome plated inside and outside, and Turkish walnut furniture with an oil finish. The barrels are topped with a double-bead setup, paired with a brass bead front sight for quick target acquisition. A single selective trigger and extractor design keep follow-up shots smooth, while 5 interchangeable choke tubes let you dial in pattern control for a range of game and conditions.

This over and under shoots fantastic and is a great grouse gun. I have taken many birds with this shotgun and it feels great

The Cavalry Sport 28...
The Cavalry Sport 28 ga. turned out to be somewhat better than expected at that low price. At first glance, the gun is attractive with its oiled walnut and raise rib.The butt is quarter-sawn, giving it a bit more than plain jane appearance. The comb is a bit higher than most I've seen, but that is an advantage with my build. My personal feeling is that the action would be more attractive if either fully stippled or polished. Appearance aside, I was looking for a light dove gun and this one will work. So far I have only fired it in two rounds of skeet and my scores were only slightly lower than usual with my competition tubed gun. The only issue I have is that the gun was extremely stiff in operating the lever and in opening the barrels.

Wood is better than...
Wood is better than expected at price point. Two flats through it with no issues except that it still opens stiffly. This and the .410 Sport to me are the best buy in entry level skeet guns. I have shot 24's so far with it (a few less but nothing below 22) and you would have to be a regular tournament circuit shooter to need more than what it offers. I added 1lb to buttstock and plan to add weight to barrel for big gun feel.
