It has been some time...
It has been some time since I purchased this shotgun and to after breaking it in it has been completely reliable. Benelli has been making the Inertia-Recoil shotguns long enough now that their reputation is cemented in quality. Mine has cycled everything from heavy field loads to light target loads. It did take a bit to wear in as it didn't consistently cycle the light loads immediately, but after 50 rounds of heavy field loads it began cycling the light target loads without any issues and has not missed a beat since! I wanted the shorter 24" barrel to be a little faster handling in the field as I mostly use the 24" barrel for rabbits & squirrels and the occasional hand tossed clay. I purchased a separate 18.5" rifle sighted barrel as the county where I hunt deer is still shotgun only and it makes the gun really handy. The shotgun is fairly light so a longer barrel would not add much weight but would move the balance point forward just slightly, but as I said I did not buy this to be a bird gun and as a working / utility gun it excels! The Crio choke tubes are longer than the old Mobil choke tubes and seem to pattern more consistently in the field barrel.

This is my first semi-auto shotgun. So far it has ran flawlessly. I have put about 300-400 rounds through it with no problems or malfunctions. Benelli recommends that you run at least "1-1/8oz" shot through it but after about 100 rounds of that I swapped over to some 1oz and it never missed a beat. I plan to mainly use it for shooting clays and dove hunting. The recoil isn't that bad either I have been shooting 12Ga for years now and I will have to say it kicks a lot less than some of my pumps that I have. Overall this has been a really good purchase and I have enjoyed it so far.

I was looking for a...
I was looking for a gun to replace a Winchester SX3 that I traded off (and regretted) in the past. I finally decided to pull the trigger on this Benelli to see if it could live up to the hype. For me, the 24" barrel is great because it lets me hunt turkey, shoot clays and even use for deer if I really wanted to. So far I have run 3 rounds of trap shooting with it and it has performed flawlessly! I am really happy with it and I can say that it is the nicest shotgun that I have ever owned for sure. If you are on the fence, just buy it and I don't believe that you will have any regrets at all.
