The FN SLP Competition is a 12 Gauge gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun designed for fast, reliable operation. Its interchangeable gas piston system helps tune the action for different loads, while the extended magazine tube provides an 8+1 capacity with 2 3/4-inch shells and 7+1 capacity with 3-inch shells. The 24-inch back-bored vent rib barrel has a hard-chromed bore and a 3-inch chamber, and it accepts Invector-Plus interchangeable choke tubes. Flip-up rifle-style sights with a red fiber-optic front sight aid rapid target acquisition. A blue hard-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum alloy receiver, nickel-Teflon-coated controls, matte black synthetic stock, checkered gripping panels, and premium recoil pad complete the competition-oriented configuration.

Great job from Buds!...
Great job from Buds! This is my 3rd purchase from Buds and so far so good. I would give this purchase a 5 star but when I opened the case i only found that one choke was shipped with it. I contacted Buds and they referred me to FNH's support line. I am hoping that FN makes this right, I will find out tomorrow. There was also only one piston included. The manual states that there is two. I am not sure if the manual is an older version. I am pretty sure that they only ship with a newly designed piston. As far as the chokes I am sure that it was missing one. I do not blame buds for this at all. Overall the shotgun looks perfect and the shipping was fast.

The only complaint I...
The only complaint I have about my FNH SLP Competition is the stock and butt pad do not meet up as well as I would like for such an expensive shotgun. The attention to detail is not equal to say a Remington 870 Wingmaster. The texture of the stock and forearm checkering is pretty aggressive, more aggressive than the standard SLP I handled in a store. The aggressive checkering doesnâ��t really bother me just an inconsistency I noticed. The firearm comes in a FNH hard case with 1 gas piston, improved cylinder bore choke, choke wrench and a sheet of paper describing the additional features to the Competition SLP. I called FNH before I purchased the firearm and I am happy to say it was easy to get a knowledgeable, English speaking American on the phone quickly. The gun functions amazingly. I purchased 8 different brands/versions of 2 ¾â�� low recoil birdshot and 6 function perfectly. Slugs cycle perfectly. I have received many genuine compliments about the gun and a few strange looks. I would recommend it to non-traditionalist looking for a reliable â��too shinny for combatâ�� combat style shotgun.
