The receiver of this...
The receiver of this gun is beautiful, from the color case hardening to the fit and finish of the stock. It checked all of my boxes for a coach gun - exposed hammers, double triggers, nice wood, and quality metal work. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the attention to detail of the barrels when I disassembled it for cleaning. First, they are advertised as finished in black chrome and mine is not. My barrels appear to have a sprayed matte coating on them and as can be seen in the pictures they were not done well. The area in front of the forearm lug is not coated, nor is the underside of the top rib, which as shown in the picture is exhibiting rust. There is also a faint spot of rust on the breech at 12 o'clock on the left barrel, which I did not initially notice. I did not remove the forearm to examine the barrels when I picked it up at the FFL (which is on me) or I would not have accepted the gun. I have contacted Heritage and after a delayed initial response, I heard nothing.
