This is a neat little...
This is a neat little shotgun. I got this for my wife to use for some South Texas dove hunting. She's 4'11" and her arms are too short to cycle a regular youth shotgun. This will be perfect for her. The action needs some breaking in, but that's expected. The finish isn't excellent quality but it's good. The shorter barrel length would make this a decent home defense weapon if need be. Adding a recoil pad would definitely make it more comfortable for an average sized person to shoulder. One thing I will note is that when I tried loading some shells in the tube initially, the wooden plug that came in the magazine was too long. It wouldn't allow a single shell to be loaded. Of course, before using this to hunt a migratory game bird, like dove, in Texas, you can only have a total of 2+1 in the firearm. I trimmed the wooden dowel down to about 5 5/8 inches. This allowed the right quantity of both 2 1/2 and/or 3 inch shells in the gun. After this slight modification to the shell-limiting plug, we can now use this to hunt dove legally where we live. Of course, if you are just target shooting or using this for personal protection, you can remove the plug out entirely. Overall, I'm very pleased so far. I love the classic look of this pint sized shotgun. To help visualize how much smaller it is than a standard size, there is a photo comparing it to a maverick 88 20 gauge with a 26 inch barrel.
