The Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag is a purpose-built pump-action hunting shotgun designed around the demanding performance of 3 1/2-inch 12 Gauge magnum loads. Its robust bolt, receiver, and internal components are sized for longer shells and heavy recoil. The 28-inch smoothbore Accu-Mag barrel is overbored to 10 Gauge dimensions to help reduce felt recoil and produce uniform patterns with both light and heavy shot charges. Eight ports on each side of the barrel direct gases upward and outward to further reduce muzzle jump. Finished in Mossy Oak Duck Blind camouflage with a fixed synthetic stock, the 835 is configured for waterfowl and general hunting use. It uses a convenient tang-mounted manual safety and a front bead sight.
