"Pulled the trigger"...
"Pulled the trigger" on this Pietta after a year of looking. Picked it up today from my local FFL/shooting range. After unboxing I was initially underwhelmed but that was before cleaning, oiling and removing the thick grease on the barrel that preserves some really nice quality bluing during shipping/storage. This one was manufactured in 2024 and stamped Made in Italy with the Italian proof mark so fire tested. After cleaning and assembly I'm really impressed about quality for the money $700. Stock is beautiful grain and medium brown. I like the smooth knob "pistol grip" that is large. Lock up is tight but easy to operate. The Pietta operates smooth and easy right from the box. Ears are relatively short and narrow with no checkering aka "thumb graters". Case hardening on side plates and triggers is acceptable but looks better outside in natural light. Barrels are polished with shell extractor. Double triggers are chrome and a nice contrast. Trigger springs are definitely very tight and hard for me to swipe both. Right trigger is tighter one on mine. As far as quality vrs cost, for $700 a really great deal. Prefer shorter 18.5" barrels for indoors but 20" is not a big difference. Glad I bought the Pietta because it is plain and has a classic feel to it. For the money you can't do much better however at higher price over $1000 get the Taylor's. I highly recommend to "pull the trigger" on the Pietta.
