Having shot an 870...
Having shot an 870 Express for roughly 20 years of hunting and being relatively new to trap shooting I was looking for a shotgun that would make the transition to the trap field as seamless as possible. The 870 Wingmaster Classic Trap did not disappoint. Fit and finish are great. At first I thought the comb on the stock was too high as when I shouldered the gun there was a noticable gap between the mid and front beads. After shooting a few rounds of trap, this gap no longer bothers me as I went from the occasional dusting of a target (mostly chips) to turning each clay to dust when I do my part. I had used a full choke in my express and find the "Singles" choke of the Classic Trap to be great for my 16 yard summer league. Can't wait to try out the other included chokes from further back. \r \r If you're accustomed to an 870 and don't want to break the bank on a dedicated trap gun, the Classic Trap fits the bill.
