This was my first...
This was my first venture into an O/U and I couldn't have chosen a better valued yet quality shotgun! I've taken my Spartan out clay target shooting now 4 times and over 500 shells without a hic-up! The ejections are great, the auto select and eject mechanism matches my buddies shotguns costing 4 times the price. My wood is flawless and the metal finish is very good. My only problem was with the initial inspection at the FFL shop. The forearm wood piece was split. But Bud's took care of the return shipping and I had my gun back in my hands within 7 days with express shipping - all on Bud's nickel. Way to go Bud's!

Maybe just an anomaly,...
Maybe just an anomaly, but the first time I fired my new Remington/Baikal 12-ga. OU ordered from Bud's both barrels fire simultaneously. Both barrels were loaded with 3" magnum waterfowl loads and the gun nearly jumped out of my grasp. The recoil was excessive, but there was no apparent damage to this ruggedly-built shotgun. Experimentation with snap-caps and singly-loaded barrels indicated that this was a consistent factory defect in my gun. When the top barrel was selected to fire first (push the trigger forward before firing) it appeared that the gun would filre the expected sequence. The gun is currently undergoing warranty repair, but I had to ship it cross-country from Oregon to Rockledge Florida with attendant shipping and ilnsurance charges, the delay in receipt will probably burn up the remainder of the Oregon waterfowl season, and I don't yet know if I will have to pay a FFL dealer about $30-$50 to recieve the gun back when repairs are completed. All expenses included, it still remains a reasonably economical price for a basic OU shotgun, but some of the glow is off the rose for me.
