I purchased this...
I purchased this firearm on 9/5/2025 and went to the range using Hornady Sabot 12Ga ammo for rifled shotguns. The shell size was 2 3/4 as is stamped on the barrel. The rounds would not feed from the magazine and jammed just below the breech. I loaded each round by hand individually and they fit the barrel fine and fired with no issue. I did a search on this issue and found that Savage has been having this issue for many years and from what i found only 1 concern had been resolved by the firearm being sent back and it was repaired by their armorer. It did not say what the repair was. So far i am not satisfied with the performance of this weapon and would advise against purchasing one until Savage resolves the issue for the consumer not just one gun at a time but before it leaves the factory.

Well, it's a slug-gun...
Well, it's a slug-gun pure and simple. Shoots accurately enough. My complaint is that the magazine only seems to like 3" shells. Anything smaller seems to hang up constantly. That's a pain as it turns this mag fed shotgun into a single shot if you want to use 2 3/4" shells as most people would. I don't really use this anymore and it sits in my safe gathering dust. Regret buying. I should have bought the Henry single-shot fully rifled 12 gauge instead and I probably will.

Great service from...
Great service from Bud's. Impressed with the accuracy of the Savage - shoots less than 1 inch groups at 50 yards, outstanding for a slug gun. Does not cycle 2 3/4 rounds well, most hang up and have to be manually pushed up to cycle. I'm willing to take the trade-off between accuracy and reliability, but some may not. If you are accurate on your first shot the follow-up is much less important.
