I was in need for an...
I was in need for an automatic shotgun in 12 gauge. Looked at a couple online reviews and decided to try this Weatherby model. I'll probably use it for pheasant and duck hunting and occasional sporting clays. It's not to bad weight wise but I've hunted with lighter 12 gauge guns. The 26 inch barrel is nice for shooting and hunting in denser cover or in a duck blind. The walnut isn't a bad grade either but nothing super fancy. At this price point, I didn't expect that. It has fairly light recoil with standard 2 3/4" loads. Haven't tried 3" loads yet, but I don't usually hunt with magnum loads. I have shot a few clay birds with it and it has cycled light 1 ounce loads just fine. Haven't tried 7/8 ounce loads yet but I don't really use those. The selection of chokes should cover all your needs. I had some extended Browning Invector chokes laying around so I use those. Weatherby uses the Browning standard Invector design chokes so there is no problem interchanging those. All in all I think you can't go wrong with this model Weatherby Element if you're looking for a dependable shogun for upland or waterfowl hunting or a day shooting sporting clays.

Ordered this shotgun...
Ordered this shotgun on Monday morning about 10:00 and received a call around noon on Tuesday that it had arrived at my local FFL dealer. This is my second purchase from Buds and I've been pleased on both occasions. Seeing as how I just picked it up today, I've not shot it yet but it's an exact replacement for another of these guns that I had a few years ago and traded away. That one operated excellently and I have no doubts that this one will do the same.
