Product Overview
The Weatherby Element Upland is a lightweight 20 Gauge semi-automatic shotgun designed for upland hunting. Its inertia-driven operating system delivers reliable cycling and quick follow-up shots, while the 28-inch barrel and 3-inch chamber provide versatility for common hunting loads. A Turkish walnut stock gives the shotgun a traditional field profile, and the aircraft-grade aluminum receiver helps reduce carry weight. The shotgun features a 4+1 capacity, a manual crossbolt safety, and a fiber optic front sight for clear target acquisition in varied lighting.

Because I plan to use...
Because I plan to use light loads I purchased 7 1/2 shot 7/8 oz loads in 1200 fps and 1275 fps velocities to test fire the new Element The suggested minimum load was the 7/8 oz at 1200 fps. The Element cycled both loads equally well. Based upon my experience, I think it would cycle a lower energy load but I don't know how low. The Element is a very light shotgun and could be a great upland gun to carry for hours hunting quail, grouse, or other upland birds. It would be fine for doves. It would be easy for a youth to carry in upland hunting. I shot 100 rounds through it on a sporting clays course today. The light weight makes it shoulder and track quickly. I wouldn't expect to shoot a lot of 3 inch magnum loads in a session due to the light weight. It appears to be a nice small game and upland bird gun. I bought it to use shooting light loads like mentioned above. I shoot a lot of Sporting Clays and will use this gun for sub gauge Sporting and FITASC.
