I have owned rifles...
I have owned rifles for 50 years and handguns for somewhat less than that but this is my 1st shotgun. I was not really looking for a shotgun but an article in Gun Tests piqued my interest in this Akkar Churchill 612 tactical shotgun. What I like about this weapon is the feel of it at the shoulder and the sights. I'm not really into any shotgun sports so my intention is to get familiar with the way this weapon handles (have not fired it yet) then keep it handy in the house for emergencies. I also like the ease this shotgun breaks down for cleaning or maintenance but I cannot recommend it as I am not familiar enough with this weapon type.

First off purchases...
First off purchases through buds have been pretty good thus far. As far as the Churchill goes not to shabby. If you like the pistol grip/stock configuration then you will probably like this. The threaded breacher is great. Pic rail on top of the receiver with ghost sight. A red fiber optic front sight in between metal blades gives confidence of durability. I have to gripes about this weapon. First the pistol grip/stock. The pistol grip/stock is not adjustable and I find that the length of pull is a little to much for comfort. I second that the loading port door tears up the back of my thumb while loading shells. Aftermarket support is obsolete. The Churchill ran standard Rio Royal 00 Buck, Hornady Custom Rifled Slugs, and Remington Turkey Loads just fine. If you don't care about aftermarket support, the loading port gate, and the length of pull this is a good shotgun.
